Serrated ‘Shakeproof’ Washers

• Serrated shakeproof washers, also known as lock washers, are designed to prevent screws from coming loose, by absorbing vibration.
• Shakeproof washers feature teeth or a serrated edge. This design cuts into the material where the screw is is being applied.  Once the teeth are hooked in, it becomes hard for the screw to be loosened by vibration and other forces.
